Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone knows of a route called Lor(r)aine on Clogwyn Y
Wenallt.

I first climbed it in 1969 and cannot for the life of me remember the grade,
I guess it would be VS or below as that was the grade I climbed at in those
days. It did get better for me but I am now slowly regressing to bumblie
routes again :-)

Soloing Flying Buttress on the Cromlech in pouring rain and big boots was
always a joy ;-)

Are you sure you mean Clogwyn y Wenallt? That's the one with the
"bullish" names - Bovine, Oxo, Oxine, etc. There's a VS on Dinas Mot
called Lorraine - to the right of The Cracks.

Hi Roy and Mark,

Thanks for your input guys.

Roy, it would seem that you are correct and identifying the wrong crag would
explain why it did not come up on the UKC logs when I searched for it on
Clogwyn Y W.

Mark, the log URL you provided was useful and it is as I thought a VS.

The Mot always was enjoyable whether VS or HVS, Diagonal I climbed a couple
of times and the Mole was a nice lead for me.

Cheers and thanks for clearing up the mystery.

It's quite hard compiling my route log out here in NZ when I only have a few
guides, Ron James Constable guide was my bible when I was in Wales and as I
progress with the log I may have to come back to the forum for further help
and advice.
